New Painting: SQUARING OFF
OLDER NEWS: I'm thrilled to announce my painting "Plains Passage" has been accepted into the 28th IAPS Juried Exhibition to be held at the Salmagundi Club in New York City June 6 to 17, 2016. The IAPS Press release notes: "IAPS serves as the umbrella organization for all pastel societies and their members from around the world. As a result, this show features the work of many of the best pastel artists working in the medium today. Only 140 amazing pieces of work will be selected from the nearly 1000 entries received. This show is a must see experience where the best of the best in pastel art today will be displayed in the spectacular setting of the Salmagundi Club in New York City."
The Salmagundi Club, founded in 1871, is one of the oldest art organizations in the US.
I am happy toannounce I have received an award for my painting "Sensing Difference" in Pastel Artists Canada Juried show on line now.
Dianna Ponting, juror for the show, had the following to say about my painting:
"The minimalistic technique of this wee painting speaks volumes
as does the pose of the mainsubject. To every viewer, there is a
different story in her stance. It is truly an art to paint a piece that
is capable of engaging the public in the thought process."
"Leanin' East" is a recent painting sold to a collector who loved the movement and texture I portra
yed. This piece was inspired by a trip to the Olympic Peninsula this past summer -- a wild and rugged place with high winds coming off the ocean...
Welcome to my on line gallery. Please inquire about pricing. Prices range from $600 to $2100 depending on size. Paintings are also available as giclees since the original has sold. Please inquire.
